Vertical Multi-Stage Pumps

Multistage pumps are available in a number of forms. A common distinction is between vertical and horizontal multi-stage pumps. Vertical multistage pumps can be placed into one-pipe systems or on other types of foundation and have a number of uses within industry. For example a vertical multistage pump could be used as part of a pump system for moving water or chemicals around. These types of multistage pumps can be seen across a range of industrial settings, as well as in other places. For instance, a vertical multi-stage pump may be utilised by a farm that is undergoing an irrigation process or even by a golf course.

Depending on the manufacturer, some vertical pumps come with differing numbers of stages. The idea is that the company orders a pump with the right number of stages for the job the pump is needed for; for example, the number of stages affects the pressure on the water and is an issue a company should consider before installing a vertical pump. Other forms of pumps vary according to their internal parts. For instance, some are fitted with an E-motor, which boasts frequency control.

Grundfos are a well-established manufacturer of pumps, founded in 1945. Their creations can be found in many kinds of industry and are used in controlling everything from ventilation to pumping liquids in greenhouse buildings.

Other manufacturers supply specialist items such as vertical multistage centrifugal pumps and diffuser pumps. ClydeUnion Pumps for example manufacture high speed units that work well under tough circumstances, such as in high temperature environments.
