Immersible pumps for domestic or commercial use
Grundfos cooling immersible pumps are designed to be fitted on top of tanks or containers. The main function of these vertical multi-stage centrifugal pumps is to pump essential cooling lubricants for machine tools and similar industrial applications. These include:
-
Lathes
-
Drilling centres
-
Grinding machines
-
Filtering systems
-
Industrial washing machines
What is an immersible pump?
Unlike a submersible pump, which is a complete unit that can be submerged, immersible pumps are vertically mounted below the liquid while the motor stays above the liquid. They can be used with corrosive and aggressive liquids, unlike their submersible counterparts which are often only suitable for use with water.
How does an immersible pump work?
Vertical immersible pumps are usually mounted on top of tanks or containers to pump cooling lubricants to mechanical parts. The motor, which sits above the liquid, powers the impeller at the bottom to draw liquid up the vertical shaft and discharge it at the surface.
Popular immersible pump manufacturers
Grundfos manufactures a variety of immersible pumps, including the MTR (E) range with a cartridge shaft seal for safe handling and ease of use, the SPK range with a 3-phase AC motor, the close-coupled MTH range with a 3-phase motor and the MTA flange-mounted range.
Immersible pumps from Anchor Pumps
Grundfos immersible cooling pumps come in various sizes to accurately regulate flow and pressure, depending on the type of application they are fitted to.
